Candle Care
- Trim 1/4" of wick before and after each burn. Extinguish the flame after 4 hours to minimize soot and mushrooming of carbon.
- Extinguish using the lid or dip the wick into melted wax to avoid smoke and ease re-lighting.
- Wipe off excess moisture to prevent sweating from temperature fluctuations.
- On first burn, allow wax to fully melt to container sides (1–3 hours) to avoid tunneling.
- If tunneling occurs, set oven to 175°F and place candle inside for 5 minutes to level the wax.
Troubleshooting Your Wood Wick Candle
Wood wick candles offer a cozy ambiance, but proper care ensures a better burn:
Issue 1: The Over-Trimmed Wick
Problem: Wick is too short, won’t stay lit.
Solution: Keep it slightly over 1/8", trim as needed for ideal flame.
Issue 2: Wax Tunneling
Problem: Wick burns straight down, leaving wax on the sides.
Solution: Let wax reach edges on the first burn.
Issue 3: Excessive Wax Pool
Problem: Deep wax pool may drown the flame.
Solution: Soak extra wax with paper towel or spoon. Improve oxygen flow by gently tilting the candle (carefully).
